About this whisky
Black Dog has a story rooted in India. In 1883, a Bombay wine merchant ordered a special blend from Scotland, and a young employee named Walter Millard saw the consignment through; it reached India the following year. The whisky took his name as Millard Black Dog, and the dog on the label has been with it ever since. Today the Scotch is shipped undiluted from Scotland and bottled in India by United Spirits, part of Diageo. Black Reserve, once known as Black Dog Centenary, is the entry point to the range.
In the glass you will find matured wood, toasted malt and mild honey on the nose, with delicate butterscotch, a hint of sherry and floral notes on the palate, and a warm finish touched with cherry. It is smooth and balanced, easy to enjoy with water or soda, and a familiar, well-liked name to bring to a Puja get-together or a family celebration.
