About this whisky
The Chivas story began in 1801 in Aberdeen, where the Chivas brothers ran a high-end grocery supplying fine goods to the city's well-heeled customers and, in time, their own blended whiskies. Today the brand's spiritual home is Strathisla in Keith, one of the oldest working distilleries in the Highlands, acquired by Chivas Brothers in 1950. Chivas Regal 12 is built around rich Speyside malts, and every whisky in the blend has spent at least 12 years in oak.
Expect a generous, approachable style: heather, honey and orchard fruit on the nose, then a creamy palate of ripe apple, vanilla, hazelnut and butterscotch that lingers warmly. It is the kind of bottle that suits almost any guest, from those new to Scotch to seasoned drinkers who want something reliable and well made. Serve it neat, with a splash of water or over ice. In its familiar gift carton, it remains a classic choice for Diwali, Bijoya visits and corporate gifting.
