About this whisky
Chivas Regal 15 Year Old, sold in some markets as Chivas XV, takes the familiar Chivas house style and gives it a French twist. After at least 15 years of maturation in Scotland, part of the blend is finished in casks that previously held Grande Champagne Cognac, the most prized growing area of the Cognac region. The result is a richer, fruitier take on Chivas, with the honeyed Speyside character the brand has been known for since its Aberdeen beginnings in 1801.
On the nose it is rich and jammy with flashes of bright citrus; the palate brings sweet butterscotch and ripe orchard fruit, and the finish is sweet and satisfying. It is a good step up for someone who already enjoys Chivas 12 and wants more depth, and it handles both neat sipping and long, refreshing serves. A smart gift for Puja visits, weddings or a client who appreciates something a little different from the usual.
