About this whisky
Hibiki means 'resonance', and this blend is The House of Suntory's idea of harmony in a glass. More than ten malt and grain whiskies are drawn from Suntory's three distilleries: Yamazaki near Kyoto, Hakushu in the forested Southern Japanese Alps and Chita on the coast near Nagoya. They are aged in five different cask types, including rare Japanese Mizunara oak, and brought together by Suntory's blenders. The House of Suntory launched it in India at the end of 2019. The famous bottle has 24 facets, one for each season of the old Japanese lunar calendar.
The nose is delicate and floral, with rose, lychee and a hint of rosemary over mature wood and sandalwood. On the palate there is honey-like sweetness, candied orange peel and white chocolate, and the finish is subtle and long, with a gentle touch of Mizunara. It is refined enough to sip slowly, and light enough for a Japanese-style highball. For corporate gifting, wedding presents or a host who appreciates design, it is a bottle that always makes an impression.
