About this whisky
J&B stands for Justerini & Brooks, a London wine and spirits merchant whose story goes back to 1749, when Italian Giacomo Justerini set up shop in the city. The firm later turned to Scotch, and J&B Rare became one of the best-known light-style blends worldwide, instantly recognisable by its yellow label and red lettering. It brings together 42 different whiskies, with fresh, fruity Speyside malts at the heart of the blend.
This is a pale, delicate Scotch: think green apple, pear and a little vanilla, with a soft maltiness and a clean, crisp finish. That lightness is exactly why bartenders like it for long drinks, and why it suits hot Kolkata afternoons served tall with plenty of ice. Stock it for relaxed get-togethers and house parties, or for anyone who finds heavier, smokier whiskies too much.
