About this whisky
Johnnie Walker Aged 18 Years is the house's tribute to time: every whisky in the blend has rested in oak for at least 18 years. The brand names three signature malts at its heart. Blair Athol, from the Highland town of Pitlochry, brings opulent spice; Glen Elgin, in Speyside, adds sweet fruit; and Cardhu, the distillery that has supplied Johnnie Walker for generations, contributes creaminess and a long finish. The result is a richer, more contemplative style than Black Label, in a refined square bottle.
In the glass, expect soft spice and dark chocolate, ripe orchard and dried fruit, and a caressing sweetness that carries into a smooth, lingering finish. It rewards a slow pour, neat or with a single ice cube. As a gift it sits comfortably between Gold Label Reserve and Blue Label, and makes a considered choice for a senior colleague, a milestone anniversary or the head of the family at Bijoya.
