About this whisky
Johnnie Walker began in 1820 in a grocer's shop in Kilmarnock, where John Walker started blending teas, spices and, eventually, whiskies to give his customers a consistent dram. Two centuries on, Gold Label Reserve is the house's celebration blend, built around creamy, honeyed malts with Clynelish from Scotland's northern Highlands at its heart. It comes in the brand's signature square bottle with a gold cap and a matching gold-and-cream box.
Pour a glass and expect honey wrapped in sweet cream, with soft tropical fruit and a gentle vanilla spice that carries through to a smooth finish. It is luxurious without being heavy, so it suits both seasoned Scotch drinkers and guests who usually prefer something lighter. The gold presentation makes it an obvious choice for Diwali hampers, wedding gifts and corporate gifting, and it sits comfortably in the glass neat, on ice or with a splash of chilled water.
