About this tequila

Every Don Julio tequila starts life as this Blanco. The house was founded by Don Julio González, who began making tequila in the highlands of Jalisco in 1942, and the recipe for this unaged expression has been refined over the decades since. Blue Weber agave from Los Altos is cooked slowly in traditional ovens, fermented and distilled in small copper pot stills, then bottled without ageing so the character of the agave comes through untouched.

The result is clean and fresh: sweet cooked agave and bright citrus on the nose, a herbal, gently peppery palate and a crisp finish. It is the tequila to build a proper Margarita or Paloma around, and it is clean enough to sip chilled. If you are hosting a lunch with Mexican flavours, or want one top-shelf blanco to keep at home, this is a reliable pick.
