About this beer
Budweiser goes back to 1876, when Adolphus Busch set out in St. Louis, Missouri, to brew a light, crisp lager that could travel across America. Nearly 150 years later it remains one of the most recognised beers in the world, and its red-and-white label is a fixture at Kolkata bars and house parties alike. The Budweiser sold in India is brewed locally by AB InBev, the brand's owner.
Expect a bright, pale-gold lager with a lively sparkle. Barley malt gives a light sweetness, rice keeps the body crisp and clean, and a restrained hop bitterness rounds it off. It is a reliable all-rounder: refreshing on a humid afternoon, easy alongside spicy food, and familiar enough to please a mixed crowd. Choose the 330 ml bottle for the table, or the 500 ml pack for the fridge before a match screening or a family get-together.
